Social life here is what you make it. I was outraged by all of the negative comments, that I do not feel were deserved. People's complaints were not so much about why they couldn't get a job once they left school, or why they couldn't get into grad school. I saw more complaints about location, and social life. It's obvious to me that the students are more concerned with having fun, and living in a good area, than the actual education. I also read complaints about leniency, but as adults you have to learn responsibility. One can not be upset for not being given passes throughout his/her education. You earn your grades here weather that be through study or cheating. Cheating is common at any university. I plan to finish my degree plan, and apply for grad school. With all of the internships available in the city, I can not begin to understand how a finance major could complain. You go to college to get an education and a good job, and that's what you will get at the University of Houston. |
