It wasn't what I expected. Academically, it was sound and always interesting. I could have been a more motivated and focused student. I chose History because at the time, it was where all the great professors were. One fourth of my class majored in History. The value of my Yale experience was in the people I met, my involvement with extracurricular activities. I was in a singing group, and that experience probably prepared me for more of what I've done in the 20 years since graduation than anything else. I've been a professional musician for much of the time, and it was at Yale that I got a taste for touring, collaborating with other creative people, even getting on the phone and booking tours. It's just a great place. I sometimes hated it, but I love it. |
