The Biddeford Campus definitely has a range of opinions. This school can be described as horrible or amazing depending on what you consider your major priorities to be. If you are a hardworking, academically focused, science major whose primary concern is being accepted into the Portland graduate school, then by all means, welcome. The campus is basically modeled for this type of student. Another pro would be the safety. There is a very low crime rate in the area and almost nothing happens. However, if you are the partying, non-science major whose looking forward to an awesome social life, then prepared to be disappointed. Unfortunately, the social life/ activity basis is extremely lacking. Based from my experiences, if you want to have the best of both factors, initiative is key. If you wish to elevate your social life during your stay, then I suggest joining clubs (UniTed if you are looking for cultural diversity) or even making your own club to meet others with similar interests and hobbies. I find it that even though the student body complains about the lack of social life, very few students actually put forth any effort into changing that. All in all, initiative is definitely important in all aspects for an enjoyable college life. |
