I transferred to Furman for my sophomore year and although I'll admit I had second thoughts, Furman turned out to be an amazing experience. I was pushed academically and well prepared for graduate school and life after college. LIke any university there are terrible professors, but the good ones far outweigh them. Also, like any university there are administrative policies that are unpopular amongst the student body, but Furman is not unique when it comes to this. I feel blessed and fortunate for having gone to one of the best universities in the country. I often times find myself upset over such negative, unwarranted comments that are written about my alma mater. Former students crying about how it's not really a good school and how upset they are with the administration. To not even admit that the academics are outstanding at Furman is unfounded. If you take issue with administrative policies, that's fine, but don't expect it to be any different at another school. |
