JMU is horrible, bottem line. I came here because I thought it would provide the ultimate college experience, and while there are some cool parties, that's all it offers. The faculty is dry and showing years of neglect in recruitment. The longer I stay here, the more I realize I'm in Harrisonburg.. I've come to the point where I'm asking myself: What would attract professors who are pioneering their fields of study to uproot to Harrisonburg, VA to teach at JMU… asking myself this I keep comming to the same answer.. NOTHING!!! So basically I've wasted a full year and a half here, shame on me. While getting drunk is fun n all, it's not the primary reason I decided to go to college. Also the more I think about the common mentality of the students here that led to the roit last year the more embarassed I am to tell people I am one of these students. A word of advise: if you are serious about your education don't go to a rural college unless it's like UVA or Tech. However, if you only care about getting piss drunk and having fun, and don't really care about blowing your parent's money then JMU is for you.
