Before deciding to go to RIT, I was accepted to MIT, Cornell, Northeastern, and Merrimack College. After visiting each, I quickly realized RIT was the right college for me. As an Applied Mathematics major, I am challenged here at RIT. Most of the professors in the math program are from out-of-country, but their english and knowledge of the subject are both fantastic. Every professor I have had has been available and friendly. Most professors here have extended open door hours, and are always willing to make an appointment with you. There are numerous Cooperative Education and Internship opportunities available at RIT. By contacting your Co-Op Advisor, you will almost surely obtain an interview. RIT is an academic based school. If you're looking for parties, then it is not the school for you. If you're looking for a great education that will definitely secure you a competitive career when you graduate, it is the school for you. The male to female ratio is large, but each year, it is becoming smaller. More and more females are becoming interested in RIT each year. The campus is full of a patented red brick, but the new buildings being built on campus are more aesthetically pleasing. It is cold and windy here, and we do receive a record amount of snow, but why does weather play any role in what college you choose to attend? RIT is a competitive school in which you were learn. First year will seem easy, but do not let it fool you. After your first year, you have to try and you will be challenged, but every great school should challenge you at some point. |
