The school is very good academically for engineering. Probably one of the best. Other than that, students should seek another school for any other major. The acceptance rate for Valpo is very high ~90%, meaning they will take most anyone who applies. Be wary of this, schools filter out students for a reason because they seek the brighestest propagating a name brand for the school. Most people have not heard of Valpo, even in Chicago.

On the social aspect, it is very dreary. Little takes place in a small town. But for those who like small towns, this is the place for you.

The school is easy to get into, little needs to be done. (Remember anything in life worth doing is hard, never settle!) The school promotes itself through word of mouth and campus visits. Do not fall into this trap. If you do plan a visit come prepared with questions.
