I'm in the Culinary Arts AOS right now and couldn't be happier with it. I'm trying to go into the Culinary Nutrition Bachelors degree as well, which is the only one of its kind. The students here are great. Of course you do tend to have the few stupid freshmen who aren't serious, but they tend to be weeded out after the first few trimesters. The work isn't too hard but definitely will prepare you for the work force. Most of my books were even written by the teachers. The only complaint is the food could be better (I mean come on, we're a CULINARY school and the food isn't amazing…that's sad) but red sauce and city burger are pretty great! The city is fun and has a lot to do. The dorms are ok, just your average dorm, especially the Harborside campus dorms. The buses rarely go by the schedule but you rarely have to wait over 15 mins for one to come so it isn't that big of a deal. So many people compare JWU to CIA and all I can say is we have more programs and just as much prestige, we have THE largest culinary school IN THE WORLD. Don't be fooled by the CIA's pretty campus and claims of being the premiere culinary college, they seriously only have 2 degree programs…If you're deciding between JWU and CIA, I will tell you this, my old roommate flunked out of JWU, she now attends CIA… |
