Madison is fantastic. The classes are hard but rewarding. Lots of future choices for students coming out of UW Madison. The social scene is the best for College towns that I have been to. There is always something going on whether it be sports, concerts, or gigantic assemblages of people. I recommend it to everyone I know, most people in Wisconsin wish they could go here, just not everyone can make it in. Great school.
