Statistical Analyzer:

The Social Work College at UTA is not run by social workers. They abuse the power they have consistently. This is evident in the way they treat their students and they even admit to being unimpressed that the students are the consumers.

They are not informative. Advisors are inconsistent; administration is condescending and consistently humiliates the students.

We are treated more like belligerent merchandise to be sent down an assembly line than consumers there to be served.

The field department is prejudicial; they practice discrimination in every way except ethnicity, they are very careful about that. If you fall outside any other norm then they will jump on the opportunity to treat you with total disrespect.

They request the impossible. Don?t bother doing field if you have a family or yourself to support. Internship is a slavery system and does not consider that people have to live and eat. I learned nothing, but worked hard for free.

One student who was in the hospital when a paper was due and was told by the instructor, no real professors teach very many classes, that she could turn it in late, there was a witness to this interaction. Then the instructor would not accept the paper on the agreed upon date. The student failed the class by 1 point, otherwise she has a B average. When she went to request a review of the grade she was denied. The dean of the college even admitted that they look upon anyone that uses the grievance process as liars and cheats. In other words the grievance process is a kangaroo court. This student is on welfare and can not afford to pay for the class she had to take again. Now they are holding her degree until she pays. She was trying to get her and her daughter off of well fair by getting a degree.

Even though UTA Social Work College is really big on Social Workers getting their masters degree, I am not masochistic enough to continue my studies at UTA. I am beginning to think that the Masters degree is just to make the college more money.
