UCD is a nice safe place - so if you want something beyond a JC but afraid to really go off on your own UCD is fine. However, if you are independent and want to get the most out of your education then UCLA, Cal and UCSD are much better choices.

The City of Davis is not a great college town and the people seem like our money but prefer the summer whan the students go home.
