The campus is beautiful, the meaning of liberal arts is taken seriously, and the professors are very helpful. For being the most expensive school in the state of New York and being in the poorest county, the community is great if you like being involved. If you're a partier, you'll fit in well here. If you like to do other things on weekends, you'll do well here too, as long as you don't rely on the town of Canton for fun. As with any rural school, fun must be created by the student body, and most often, that happens! I highly recommend this school, and if you're interested in the slightest, at least pay a visit. I travelled 3,000 miles for a middle of the winter visit to SLU and I now call myself a proud Laurentian! PS, the food at the main dining hall is REALLLLLLLY good for college food! Family style, lots of organic, some local foods, always vegetarian options, many non-cafeteria like options. Really feels like home. |
