There are instructors who will listen and spend the time with you if you need them to. There are tutors who will sit with you. The learning center will help you if needed. Everyone is friendly, including staff and faculty. I see people from all walks of life, including the handicapped students in the hallways. Why would anyone think that handicapped students don't have the right to a higher education? To say that PTI will accept anyone willing to pay the money is completely false. Some of my friends applied and did not make it in. Negative attitudes, sloppy appearances and bad grades will not get you a job after PTI, nor would it get you a job after any 4 year college either. Face it, employers don't want full body tatoos, facial piercings and green and yellow hair. PTI can only guide and teach you, but ultimately, you have to make the decision to excel in your program and put your best foot forward to get a good job after graduation. Some of my friends with a 4 year degree are now working at Starbucks because they can't get a job either. Let's face it, the economy is bad. Why should an employee hire you versus the other 100 people who sent them a resume?? You have to make yourself shine at the interview. PTI can't come along on the interviews with you. They already clothe you and teach you how to act at the interview. Personally, I think if you love the guidance and enjoy people knowing your name, then PTI is the place for you. If you want to be a number and have instructors not care if you ever come to a classroom to learn, then one of those big colleges are right up your alley. Talk to both types of schools and make the right decision for YOU, not your friends and not your parents. |
