I graduated from Fordham in 2010 and had an overall great experience. I see a lot of people on here bashing the quality of education, but I did not experience that. I am currently in medical school and when I went on interviews there were several interviewers that noted Fordham as being a "tough" school (academic wise). Fordham also puts numerous students every year at top ranked medical schools; that wouldn't be the case if Fordham wasn't up to par.

The biology faculty varied from the super friendly to the arrogant types, but that's to be expected in most fields (especially science). Through the core curriculum, I had some of the best teachers. Off the top of my head: history, english, and philosophy were the best.
Location is one of the reasons I chose Fordham. It has an absolutely gorgeous campus and an awesome library. Yes it is in the bronx, but you're right a bloack away from Metro North rail line (to Grand Central Station), and only 4-6 blocks from 2 subway lines for easy access into Manhattan. I was able to do volunteer work at a major hospital on the East Side near NYU Medical Center. Many of my friends in business and other majors take advantage of this and get valuable intern experience in their perspective field. What better if your looking to go into finance, then doing a summer/spring internship at Goldman Sachs? The opportunities are there. The location in the Bronx also allows Fordham students a plethora of volunteer opportunities.

Social life is pretty typical: tri-bar, house parties, but there's always options in NYC and the Ram Van is a shuttle service to the Lincoln Center campus for cheap (and it runs every half hour till 4am). I always had a good time on the weekends. Did I mention it's also right next to the "Little Italy" of the Bronx? Arthur Ave has some of the best Italian restaurants and I still go back for the food after graduation!

I don't know many people that regret their decision to come to Fordham. It has a great reputation and I gained so much through my classes, clubs, volunteer work, etc. I think if you want a school that is: in NYC, has a beautiful "true" campus, strong core curriculum in various topics, and a solid academic reputation… then you will flourish at Fordham. Best of luck in choosing the school for you!
