The Audio Degree is a complete and total waste of $30,000+. Even when the economy was good (like 15 years ago) there still weren't enough jobs available to accommodate all of the graduates being pumped out of this school (and neighboring schools). At least 10 of the audio/video classes (which by the way, I still don't understand why audio students had to take video classes) are a complete waste of time and money. And the internship is the worst part one of them all. I paid this school almost $4,000 to be an indentured slave, to almost run myself to death, and to be hated and treated like crap by the engineers/assistant engineers at the studio I interned at. I wish I had wasted that money on hats. Or shoes. IADT was supposed to help us find jobs after graduation and I have yet to hear back from them and I've been graduated for almost 3 years now. I, and most all my fellow graduates/friends, still work in retail. I grew tired several years ago of sending out my resume and making follow up phone calls to places that aren't even reading them. My credits won't even transfer to another school! (I still can't believe that one.) I feel that IADT stole my money and gave me a worthless degree. I grow more bitter with each loan payment I make. I wish I had gone to MTSU instead. They're not only cheaper but they offer many more classes that IADT doesn't (for example: analog tape and mastering to name a few) and their degree is much more prestigious. And they actually have a nice studio on campus and IADT doesn't. The studio we had to use was a dump in a storage unit. |
