I've been going to Gulf Coast (now) State College for a fair amount of time. I started at 16 in the dual enrollment program, and it was kind of a joke. Signing up for classes was a pain, and even then you're only allowed to take a very low number of credit hours, so after about 3 years, I'm still three semesters away from graduating with my A.A. I've heard that the only way to graduate in two is if you take 15 credits a semester and don't need any prerequisites for any of your classes. Once my dual enrollment ran out I had to reapply to the school and, despite going for 3 years, had to stand in line to register and see an adviser on one of the two days registration was open, because I was a "new" student. The administration is a pain in the butt because nobody gives a crap, but they've recently revamped most of the school when it changed from a community college to a state college, so we'll see how it goes.

As far as professors go, a lot of them are really cool and actually care about what you do with your life, assuming you are a cool person as well. I became pretty good friends with three of my professors after classes were over, and I usually go to them for advising advice. Classes are pretty easy if you do your work. Some are harder than others, and some are really easy, it just depends. The clubs are alright. Not a whole lot to choose from, but what do you really expect? There really isn't a social life outside of clubs and the few friends you can make since it's a commuter college, and Panama City is really only good if you like Spring Break, trashy clubs, and a high ratio of rednecks.

Overall, it's not an absolutely terrible school, and I'm glad I came to get my A.A., but I'm really ready to transfer to a real school.
