If you go to LCCC I strongly recommend that you pay out of pocket and do not go through the financial aid department. They are immensely incompetent and often the people at the kiosk all have different ideas of how the same thing is accomplished. I had a woman tell me flat out that I could not get an alternative student loan because it was not a direct federal loan. When I asked her why she just re-explained to me how to get a federal loan. I then talked to two other women who all had different explanations and finally talked to a manager who told me I could get the loan and how. My current CISS teacher cannot navigate angel, the website that many assignments are managed from. My communications teacher teaches at a high school level and my accounting teacher who is the only knowledgeable teacher I have is a condescending prick who has in all seriousness called us dumb asses in class. In the past I have had instructors who could not speak English well at all especially in the math department. None of this is an exaggeration and I suppose at the end of the day you get what you paid for but still I would not recommend LCCC to anyone unless you were transferring to a partnership school.
