Yes, wesleyans academics are passable in several majors, but by and large their programs will not all prepare you to work in the real world because of two reasons. 1) Extremely unrigorous academics. This place has the easiest checksheets I have ever seen. There were only 59 hours required to attain my major, and the other 61 comes from go knows where. 2) Wesleyan faculty and administration have perfected the art of treating every student like a middleschooler with no freedoms or liberties in anything, and I mean anything. They have engineered the system to the point that when you finish or leave, you will think to yourself, "holy f#%*, I did absolutely nothing pertaining to real life, just sat at my dorm, went out to the lamest fraternities this side of the Mississippi, and (occasionally) went to class.

If you enjoy being treated like a fifth grader and having everything placed(forced, really) in front of you, then by all means go ahead! But if you have any originality or desire to be unique then avoid this place like the plague.

Throughout your 4/5 years here, you will be charged exponentially more than the college is worth. The food is honestly the worst college cafeteria dining I have ever experienced. Also, you are Required to live in the god awful shanteys they call standard housing. Now mind you, should you have an extra 5k a year to throw at these money grabbing pigs, you may find yourself in a room that is on par with a motel 8. Expect tuition raises in the 4% range, and every year a new $300-$500 'technology fee' or 'academic services fee' to appear on you're already astronomical bill.

Folks, in all reality you don't go to/enjoy a college for it's academics or ascetics, that comes from the overall experience created outside the classroom. And in wesleyans case, many nursing homes have a more stimulating and exciting environment than this lousy excuse for secondary education.
