Statistical Analyzer:

To start, ucsc is beautiful. The forest, mountains and beach is breathtaking. Walking around campus can be a workout as there are hills everywhere. The public transport with buses can be a headache but 70% of the time you'll be fine.

Partying here exists, but smoking weed is just as common as drinking. Just youtube ucsc 420 to see what I'm talking about. You won't randomly come across parties, you want to be social and outgoing if you want to network and have a good time.

Santa Cruz is way too liberal for its own good, but that's my honest opinion and I'm no stereotypical ucsc hippie. Protesting is cool but extremely disorganized. There are hundreds of clubs to check out so do yourself s favor and join something, chances are you won't regret it. Everyone is chill, friendly and laidback. That means that it's not cutthroat in every class with grades so get to know people and make study groups, borrow textbooks, old exams, etc.

Study hard on your own, master the material and own the exams. Getting A's in classes is a great accomplishment and it's on you so make it happen. Yeah it's redicously expensive, so while youre here do your best and succeed. Get your diploma and get to work with your goals, I wouldn't stay in Santa Cruz after graduating unless I had a job or graduate work to do.

The hippie stereotype is half true, as you'll see a lot of different people but just a few hippies. Keep an open mind, make your own opinions, be your own man but make educated decisions.
