This is conveyor-belt education at its finest. When you are the 300th person to walk through someone's office this week, how much do you think they really care? They strive to efficiently provide the minimum required: Put a "professor" at the front of the class - check. Reply to a student inquiry - check. Lower expectations - check. And since most of these kids don't have experience with any other college, they think this is all they can expect. As an adult returning to college, I know better: C- for teaching, C- for policy implementation, C- for accountability, D for student support, advising and counseling. |
