I was sold a bill of goods upon entering, only to find that the education was far too overpriced for what you got in return. I had a teacher literally disappear on us… Even the campus staff was baffled to why she wasn't showing up, until three days later she decided to tell us she was quitting. The faculty lied to me about what to expect extracurricular wise from my classes, when I CLEARLY explained that I had a job and, was a long distance commuter, and could only do work during class time (Obviously, with the exception of studying.) The coursework was basically spoon fed to us, and the students had a very entitled and elitist attitude. Don't get me wrong, there were some teachers who were actually REALLY good at what they did, and there were a handful of great students… one of which said he regretted his choice of attending ODU, but was over $60000 in debt to them, and felt trapped there, which is why I got out as quickly as I entered! Obviously the choice of where you attend it ultimately yours, but I would stick with a public university route… you may even consider going to a community college first. |
