I attended T&M for one year and decided it wasn't for me. When I first toured the campus I was in awe of the traditions and sport prowess and being the 12th man. I knew it would be a little different than the military, but being a veteran I could really appreciate the military backround and traditions that this school has.

That was so so naive.

The first semester was good. I got to go to football games and watch the Aggies lose. But being a part of the crowd was exciting. However besides that I was extremely underwhelmed by the student population there. Being in the top 10 percent of your class is impressive. But not if your class has 100 people. Which is the majority of the students here. Small, white, christian towns. I grew up in Minneapolis. This was ridiculous. I thought I was a part of a cult when I was there. Most of the guys are totally unaware of what the world is about. Great you have a huge truck and I drive an Audi. They both still do the same thing. And if you don't ever take your truck off road whats the point of the 40 in lift? But I digress…

The Corps - Apparently when you're in ROTC that means you're a Navy SEAL here. I've been to Afganistan twice. I don't need a 20 year old yelling at me about being committed to the Corps. Screw your "Howdy". One Corps member got mad that I didn't respect his Corps status by saying Howdy. I've already been there, done that, you're an ROTC student. Simmer down.

I transferred to TCU using the GI Bill. It was the smartest decision I have ever made. It's a smaller school, still not that much more diverse, but the general student population is much more in tune with the world and how it really works. Much more social awareness as well. Sure there are some rich d-bags here and there. There is tons of school spirit, but it doesn't border on cult status.

If you want to really change the world, and God forbid…actually do something outside of Texas. Go to a school that has more going on than A&M. TCU may not be your cup of tea, but I would rather go to Texas State or even Sam Houston State than this place.
