RCC is a good place to start your college career. However it gets to the point where you don't even want to attend school anymore after the 1st year. Everyday is basically the same. It's like the movie Groundhog Day. There's noything to do around campus during your time off from class except to sit down someplace and do nothing. The food is okay but very pricey which is why half of the campus leaves at lunchtime to go home and eat or go to mcdonalds. Parking is a disaster if your not there early enough. if you get there at the wrong time expect to drive around looking for parking for at least 20 minutes or else your gonna have a long trek to class from the back parking lot. You make friends easily, everyone is nice and very helpful. Teachers are either very bad or very good. The psychology teachers are the best. I started off with a major in nursing. However, it was not what i expected. The teachers were okay but after a few weeks i knew it was not for me. Tests in both lecture and clinical are extremely difficult and you have to study 24/7. Another problem with the nursing program was the condition of the sim lab. The equipment and mannequins are ancient. They definately need an upgrade. As for the computer lab and library, they are very useful and you can always find someplace to si down. The student development center is filled with helpful teachers and counselors if you need help with anything or just want to talk to someone. All in all i can say RCC was a good school in the beginning but after my expirience with nursing program, i just want to get out and transfer asap. |
