As a junior in high school, I applied to kent state looking to save money and to grow intellectually as a person. Boy, was I wrong. The first couple of weeks there went fairly well, however, kent's true colors came out. First, most of the professors don't really want to do their jobs. You basically have to teach yourself and/or buy extra resources to learn the curriculum of the class you are taking. Second, faculty is the hardest to get into contact with. Most people there don't reply to emails or answer phone calls (so, you'll just be up a creek). Lastly, there is absolutely NOTHING to do in kent! the surrounding town is a trash heap with zero to no activities. Unless, you know someone who knows someone who sleep with someone in a frat or sorority. Then, you MIGHT get invited to a party (the Greek system is very closed and controlling group here). So, in all, I regret ever hearing of this university. I have finished my first year here and am looking to transfer as soon as possible. And, P.S., please take this review to heart, I do love to learn and for the most part I do love school. It's just, this place is not a good university AT ALL. |
