My major is psychology. Also, the name of this school is now just "Troy University" and not "Troy State".

Some of the teaching faculty is great, but it's only a rare select handful. There are professors there who are like fucking high school children, some of which have tenure!

As far as administration… well there might as well not be any. I had to skip a weeks worth of classes in a vain attempt to register for the next semester and wasn't able to. Being in the Adaptive Needs program (schizophrenia), I am allowed to register for classes before anyone else. On the earliest day of registration, the ones for Adaptive Needs, the only psych course I could get into (because I can't get into stats, a prerequisite for most of the other courses) was already full by 2 pm, which is how long it took for me to walk back and forth from office to office because they're too lazy to pick up a fucking phone.

Speaking of, trying to call for information gets you nowhere. Nobody will ever answer and when you walk in, they're just sitting there doing nothing. They have a wanton waste of money on aides that do nothing can can do nothing except tell you that they can't do anything but will

schedule you to see somebody
which never happens.

I'm taking 4 credits this semester - that's all the courses I could actually get into. After the end of this semester, I will have only 1 credit toward my major and I will have completed half of the credits for the philosophy minor I had to contract… and there's only ONE philosophy professor. How fucking sad is that?

They continually devalue education for social activity. They cancelled 2 hours of classes to celebrate their 125th anniversary. Classes were to resume at 1 and they did and I was in my 1 o'clock class. There's a regularly scheduled class right after mine in the same room. The University ASSUMED nobody would go to class after the "celebration" and so they promised that room at 2 to a high school drama group for them to have a competition in. When the professor showed up to teach, guess who one? Yeah, the high school group. So then the professor has to stand half the time in the hall to make sure his students can find him. They didn't even bother e-mailing the teacher about any of it!

Trying to get any information on-line is impossible. They've been "redesigning" their website for 20 billion years now and it's constantly broken and inaccurate and impossible to navigate. The library computers have absolutely NO word processors of any kind, the wi-fi is constantly going down… but the internet in the dorms for gaming consoles seems to always be in working order…
