That should be a BIG concern. I graduated a long time ago and it was very very hard to get into Grad School. The PCC Deans tried writing letters on my behalf which did not help. What finally helped was my age (was older) and my company I work for was willing to stand up for me and get me in. I know PCC is working on accreditation but its taken WAY too long and when its all said and done will they really be accredited and recognized? It remains to be seen. PCC does have really good academics but no one in my area has ever heard of the school. I will never send my children there due to both lack of accreditation and way too many rules. I do not believe this school provides maturation space for 'growing up' time. I feel as though kids coming out of there are not prepared emotionally for the real world (not all, but most). Life is tough, people can be mean, people can be ruthless back stabbers and hurtful in business. I know most PCC students are not prepared for that side of business. It takes tough skin and I find many students are emotionally overwhelmed for a few years. |
