The College of Business has worked so hard to become "corporate" and streamlined - that the student has become the obstacle to further growth. The school gets paid, the professor's get paid. The student gets assigned to a generic academic advisor - similar to High School. The student also gets recent Phd grads and/or Phd candidates. The majority of Major course work is taught by inexperienced faculty. The faculty's lack of educational training and classroom management skill development is shockingly obvious. Your best bet for a decent education at ISU's College of Business is to take as many classes through the LAS departments as possible. The majority of your major required courses will be washout courses of 60 -100 students taught by associate professor's with less than 5 years teaching experience. At the same time, non-business majors will be offered the same course(s) with course sizes of 10-20 taught by full professors, many tenured. $/$ ISU Business Majors do not get the value they pay for. |
