Statistical Analyzer:

College Administrators, especially the financial aid are quite friendly. The registra is rude. My department, Nursing: the Dept head is rude and uncaring, 95% of nursing staff is arrogant, self-promoting, demeaning and unhelpful in the clinical setting. The attached clinical facility puts outside University clinical students ahead of their own from their own college. I felt that the paperwork,projects,coursework was overloaded to the point you did not have much time to actually study and learn your material. Clinicals were a joke, as most/majority of the clinical instructors were more interested in leaving the floor to get coffee than they were about being their for the student. In fact, they rushed you through everything so that the student could be done your work and everyone leave the floor by 1pm, 2pm, hours early depending on the program you were in, so you spent your mornings doing CNA care, meds, and soapnotes, careplans and then were sent home. Clinical hours were not spent in a constructive learning mode for the student, but were focused on rushing the student through their basic care and pushing them off the floor. Hours should have been spent seeing procedures/doing procedures etc… Clinical lab hours for practice are noneexistent as classes are always in the room, and the hospital uses it for their orientations, etc…lucky if a student can get in and practice skills once or twice, unless of course you want to go in and use the lab from 9pm to 11pm! If you can go to another local University, go there, you will find it a much better education and environment.
