I couldn't be more disappointed with my experience up until now. The classes are overwhelmingly big and I have yet to have a TA that speaks english. I am bored in all of my classes and some days it feels like I'm the only one willing and excited to learn. You can easily skip class and no one will know the difference. Unless your class requires iclicker which means you will actually have to manually remote-check in to a class. On such a large campus it is very, very cliquey and very difficult to get involved in clubs and activities. The campus is poorly designed and planned and they are growing at an unsustainable rate. In fact my roommate didn't even get into the classes she has to take to graduate and will be wasting $23,000 next semester to pay for classes that won't help towards her degree. I couldn't be more disappointed with UMass and how terribly organized the university is. It's a shame that so many kids are forced to go there from in state. Other than the award winning dining hall, and nice gym there really isn't anything nice I have to say about the school. I hope they get their stuff together. Not the mention the opportunities for internships and job placement in your field after college is a long shot here! |
