I was a student athlete. The "core" curriculum is a joke. Barely any of those classes ccould transfer(Yes, I looked into it. I felt trapped at the University because I wasn't a rich kid who could afford to pay for another semester to make up for lost credits due to transferring. I can't say anything about most of the Business, criminal justice/sociology programs the faculty was useful, but I could have got that at a college in the Philadelphia or Baltimore area. Much of the Faculty (english, philosophy, theology, history)are sooo condescending and full of themselves its pretty sad, especially considering I probably made more money than they did bartending. The school is in the middle of nowhere and there is no public transportation. the only thing to do on weekends (athletics/academic responsibilities permitting)is drink. The locals don't want the students there. President Powell is downright stupid when it comes to aesthic renovations as opposed to fixing the infastructure. The athletic department is like a bad Soap Opera. The school is extremely right wing too (and im a republican.). It is also costly. the student body is a 50/50 split between wannabe academic types(pompous, arrogant; you know the type) and people just trying to get the 4 years done with and get the hell out.

That being said if you want an over priced education in the middle of nowhere, where the focus isn't your major, where you get talked down to, then go for it, but make sure you have some liquor handy to help with the lingering sense of cabin fever.

The only positive thing i can say is that the Business and CJ departments were extremely helpful.
