If you intend(ed) to come here and get a PhD in some obscure subject, go for it, same goes for those who come here to party. All I'm saying is, don't expect someone to hold your hand and walk you through step-by-step. In coming to VCU, you really learn the self-awareness you won't find at a smaller, isolated university. This expands to all aspects of being here, which is why I've ranked the "perceived campus safety" relatively high. We have a great number of VCU and Richmond police around campus, but it's still up to students to make sure they're not putting themselves in danger. Replace "VCU and Richmond Police" with "VCU advisors and professors" and that statement is still completely true. Ultimately, good school, but you can't sit around expecting to be singled out without investing time and effort into creating your own opportunities. |
