UWF is an OK school. Its not as good as bigger universities, but its not horrible at the same time. Depending on what type of background you come from will depend on how well you like this school. I am not a southerner so I didnt really like living in Bible Belt conservative city and diversity isnt UWF's strongest points either.

The good things about UWF is that its cheap. One of the cheapest universities in Florida. But as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. You get some mediocre classes that help you get whatever piece of paper your trying to get there.

Pensacola isnt a great place to find work or seek any opportunities. UWF's alumni base isnt strong either. This place is good as an alternative to CC and yet wanting somewhat of a college experience at the same time. If you can get paid to go here, its not a bad idea.

The beach is cool and downtown is nice if your into history since its really old. However, Pensacola is very desolate, so getting without a a car around is difficult. UWF gives free bus passes which kinda helps.

In terms of student life at UWF, well again back to you get what you pay for. The greek system has fallen to the waste side there and is really just a step up from a regular club. The potential to create new things and breath new life is there, but the motivation and the people is a completely different story.

Overall, UWF is eh. I had some good times there but things have changed a lot at the school. Its really a very miniature (and i mean incredibly mini version) of a school like Alabama or UF.

The education is very limited, the school is really small (which has cons and pros), the food really sucks (trust me dont eat there), the dorms are decent, student life sucks, and athletics are practically non existent.

If your getting decent money to come here for at least 2 years, its worth your time. If not, save your money, go to CC, then transfer to FSU, UF, or if your out of state anywhere else. I wouldnt waste more than 2 years here.
