It is my plan to go on to get either a graduate degree or medical school. For this reason the cost of UMass Amherst made me unble to say no. Now that I am finishing up my first year here I have to say it is much better than I anticipated. The students are friendly and outgoing. The cousework isn't overly difficult but you do need to study. There are plenty of clubs and other activities to keep you busy. There is partying but it is not out of control. If you want to party you can find one. If you don't there are other things to do and other people to do them with. Overall I have to stay that my initial impression of UMass was based on the old stereotype. The "new" UMass is definately worth a look. |
