UW-Madison is one of the most well-rounded schools in terms of academics, sports, and social scene. The academic accolades include top 40 universities in the nation, top 10 public in the nation, 3rd in the Big 10. The university is not as well-known for its sports, but Badgers traditionally do well in the main college sports. Gameday Wisconsin is one of the best memories you will have. The party scene at Madison is recognized by almost every ranking. The university is very large, but you can build smaller communities. The introductory classes are very large but the student/faculty ratio gets much better as you dive into your intended major. People who do not do well here usually fail to be proactive. Every teacher I have had has known my name and had conversations with me on a weekly basis (even the 200-person lectures). Many people do not take the time to get to know the professors. The experience is really what you make it. College is an investment, and you need to work hard while you are there. However, you are also buying the best years of your life. You will enjoy your time at UW-Madison. |
