I'm from the Pittsburgh area so I am familiar with our culture and how people are, it would be a culture shock for those that aren't. Its not a real big city but it can be crazy confusing sometimes. Traffic and parking in Oakland is awful and you will pay quite the penny. The area is jam packed with multiple schools all in that location. The weather in Pittsburgh sucks but since global warming its been getting less snow each year, just lots of dreary rain. I primarily transferred from a community college to Pitt so I could look better on transcripts to transfer out of state after a year; but I did ultimately end up really loving Pitt just for the education. You have hit or miss professors any where you go so I seemed it was no difference than anywhere else. The class sizes can be quite huge but then again so are every large state school. Great town and education. |
