I love Clark University for a lot of reasons. They have an excellent Psychology department. Additionally, the history there is fascinating and the professors are (from my experience) very helpful. I've met some snobbish students, but for the most part the students are interesting and passionate. I was born and raised in Worcester so I know too much about its failures to say I even remotely enjoy this city. However, walking around on Clark's campus does not feel like you're in Worcester. One could say this is a bad thing because you become so isolated and confined to the campus. I personally like this feeling because I've always wanted to escape Worcester's ugly, gray scenery. The freshmen never leave campus. One predominate reason for this is because of Worcester horrendous transportation system. Another reason is that there is NOTHING for the those under 21 to do anyway. Nevertheless I stayed in Worcester despite this strong desire to leave because I love Clark University. They also gave me a lot of aid. Although the cost of college is ridiculous all over the United States (and I really want to start a protest or do ANYTHING about the disgusting, unfair debt college students must face), I feel as though Clark could be doing more to give their students more money to attend. They don't give you any more scholarships, even if you earn all A's and B's throughout your freshman year. They spend most of their incoming money on landscaping, useless summer projects such as expanding or unnecessarily making facilities "prettier," or just on their own danm selves. Clark needs to wake up and give students (yanno, the ones who actually matter) the opportunity to receive more money from them instead of from the government. Help.
