Coming from the UP, I thought Grand Valley was going to be absolutely amazing. I was excited about being in a bigger environment and meeting new friends. But that dream was shortly lived. After being here for about a month, I realized that Grand Valley wasn't all I had hyped it up to be. The campus is dead on the weekends because everyone goes home and the police on and off campus are literally like Nazis. They're just waiting to give out MIPs. The social environment is FULL of cliques. If you don't look the part, forget about making new friends. People here are not friendly and approachable. People are quite stuck up, materialistic, and rude. It seems that a lot of people are treating this like "13th grade". I'm transferring after this semester. I can't imagine going to school here for an entire year.
