I would not recommend Sojourner Douglas College at this time. I used to appreciate the goal of the school, but somewhere along the way that goal has disappeared. This college used to be an institution of higher education, geared toward the urban adult. After spending three years at this college, I feel as if I'm nothing more than a way for the institution to make money. Within the time I've spent there I've learned that professors are not dedicated to what they do. Half of them would not show up,(no warning)! Some of the instructors way of teaching was to read from power points,( I can do that at home). You can forget a response to an email. It just became an unpleasant and frustrating experience. The book store never had the books you needed. I bought most of my books off line. To their defense, they are working on that problem. The most important reason that I would not recommend anyone to Sojourner is the tuition and the fact that most of your credits from Sojourner will not transfer. So once you're in, you're in, unless you want to basically start over. Its ridiculous! This has been my personal experience and I hope that I've helped at least one person. Good luck to everyone reading. |
