Statistical Analyzer:

Rowan has somewhat of a rep as a party/slacker school. However, it's a decent place, neither great nor bad. It is more intelligent than it seems, and there are plenty of opportunities to get academically/socially involved.

Pros: Most profs are high quality. Generally friendly students. Attractive campus. Many of the clubs have intelligent & nice people. Although many students party, it's easy to keep your distance from the party places.

Cons: Dull, unambitious, and often lonely place. (Keep in mind, all colleges can feel lonely to ppl.) Little school spirit; students mostly concerned with getting by. Two-thirds of students are commuters.

Freshman orientation was painfully boring, awkward, and depressing. Don't expect to make your friends there. If you can, make some excuse to get out of it early. It's basically useless.

If you want an enjoyable and rigorous state school, try Rutgers, Montclair, or Ramapo. If you're looking for a place to start off your college career (with intention of transferring/great grad school), community college is not a bad idea. It will be cheaper and more motivational.
