Every department is constantly fighting each other for grant money and there hardly is any cooperation. There are people in charge that shouldn't be and it seems that the administration cares more about appearances of the campus than the overall academics. They built a brand new Alumni building rather than improve on other buildings that are deteriorating from old age, mold and lack of maintenance. There are good teachers but many of my teachers didn't really care about students and would rather give us busy work that is graded by a computer system rather than give us actual projects and grade it themselves. Many teachers are self absorbed in their own lives and regrettably that is why the drop out rate for the first semester is so large. Students don't learn like this. Furthermore mysterious holds on accounts and ridiculous charges make the college experience miserable. Ask any student who goes here WKU is after your money in any way possible. There are good points however. I met some of my closest friends here I love my department, and the campus is beautiful even though it has quite the cost. Overall it seems that the administration doesn't care about the student body and that's a shame. |
