Hello, I'm from the Eastern side of the state. Going to Slipery Rock was a huge adjustment for me. Although the school is on the small end, theres always plenty of things to do! Once a week the 'Happy Bus' will take students to the Grove City Outlets where you can spend some time shopping with your friends, or going out to eat. The surrounding area is mostly a small town with a bunch of cute little shops and bars, however a little outside of town, there are many state parks where students often go for an adventure or a quiet place to study. Also the arch (gym) holds many different kinds of events ontop of all the regular activities you can do there i.e running on the track, zumba, spinning classes, rock climbing, weight lifting, swimming, etc. Even better, there are plenty of positive greek life organizations! Greek life may not be for everybody, but its a great way to meet a bunch of friends who support you, get community service hours, requlate your grades, and always know where the best parties are! I would recommend SRU to anybody! |
