EMU is a well known university and I would recommend this school to anyone. We are a D1 school located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. EMU has competitive programs and sports with solid professors. I know many people who graduated from this university and are highly successful. The campus is pretty and well kept. Dorms are about average with other universities in the state. Ypsilanti is also a pretty cool town, especially right around campus. There are multiple places to eat, coffee shops, museums, and parks all within walking distance of campus. Ypsilanti has a rich history. There are some exceptionally old buildings on campus and the surrounding area, everything is also well kept. For your first year I would recommend living in the dorms. When you decide to live off campus I would suggest the "student ghetto" which just south and east of campus. This area is full of sorority/fraternity houses, fellow students, and most of the college nightlife. If you're 21 they have some unique bars to offer. There is a brewery in town as well as ample bars on cross street right next to campus and in depot town just a few blocks away. The school also offers many different clubs and organizations, if that's something you're interested in. Come check out the campus and the town, its a pretty sweet school. You'll get a solid college experience here with competitive academics. I've only had positive experiences at EMU. |
