The U of A is an immense clogged administrative machinery above everything else. Courses are both here and there, I've had excellent professors as well as some self-infatuated instructors (full professors, to be clear, I am not willing to rip on TAs - just on professors who don't take time to read your exam, but threaten the students instead). However, one is probably likely to meet professors whose teaching abilities span an entire spectrum at any mid-level university such as the U of A. Sadly, the U of A is not as much at the forefront of research as the propaganda would have you think, or they wouldn't periodically beg for substantial donations from alumni that they don't bother to really keep track of or support in any real way. From feeling like I have achieved something at the time of my graduation I have gotten to perceive this degree as inconsequential. |
