I absolutely hate the University of Delaware. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. This school is not safe, has incredibly high rates of drug use, and the police could not care less about the UD community. I am sick and tired of actually trying to get an education and having everyone around me screaming until four in the morning…on a Monday. People here are immature, close-minded, and self-absorbed. I joined three groups on campus and quit two of them within a week. The social structure is built around cliques and it gets very old. I love UD as a school, for its academics, but socially this university is terrible. If you're like me and don't drink there is literally NOTHING to do on the weekends. Everybody here is getting drunk or stoned (or both) every weekend, sometimes as early as Monday. I am absolutely dreading Saint Patrick's Day for this reason. I will not leave my dorm on the weekends because it's so crowded at the bars. People need to calm down here about their drinking.
