State college is just a name for money but it's still a pretty dandy place to go to. Be warned though, the departments are not very well connected to each other and very often (for me) information got jumbled up. My financial aid kept getting mixed up and I was told it was going to be alright, however I had to pay out of pocket for my classes. So make sure you're on the ball with all of your information and needs.
