Please think twice about applying to this school, it is the biggest mistake I have ever made. Loyola does a great job luring people in, but it is not the school that you see on the websites and brochures. When I was deciding on a school, I read some not so great reviews of this school but decided to brush them away because "every school has pros and cons" but PLEASE take this into account when you are making your decision so you don't make the same mistake as I did because everything negative that I read turned out to be very true. While the academics are decent, there is absolutely nothing to do on the weekends aside from going to the same 2 bars that every other loyola student goes to. While bars can be fun, it gets old very fast. It is also very hard to find a genuine, kind person at Loyola. You will find a lot of arrogant, snobby rich kids. If you are not one of them, it makes it very hard to fit in. Loyola also has absolutely no school spirit, so if you plan on going to fun sporting events and cheering on your team, do not expect to find that here. I have been here for almost one whole semester and I am very grateful to be leaving when it ends and not returning. I have spoken to upperclassman that have managed to survive at LUM and they have told me that they also wish they had chosen a different school but they did not want to go through the transferring process. I do find the occasional loyola student who does not want to transfer, but even they aren't "in love" with their school as a college student should be. It's no secret that Loyola is gorgeous, but please do not make that your deciding factor because that is truly the only good thing the school has to offer.
