I am attending CMC in Steamboat Springs currently and living on campus. This school has turned out to be the exact opposite of what i was initially told and thought regarding the social and dorm life specifically. I came here to snowboard and take my general core classes and the school is good regarding the academics but the faculty and RA's associated with student life are all assholes. The school is a well known international school and has changed into an absolute money power house resulting from their history of the school. The rules are very strict and if caught with weed or alcohol you will most likely be kicked out without and kind of academic probation or second chance. The student life coordinators brainwash the RA's and when it comes to the rules, the RA's lose touch of normal human behavior and will try with ever last breathe to get you in trouble for the dumbest reasons. They say the RA's are here to help the students but they help the faculty more than the students, they kick students out one by one even if it was a first time violator, and in result of that the school gets to boot students and keep their money. It is a vicious cycle of kicking kids out to make more room for new students in the upcoming semester and take their money as well. The biggest problem i have with this school is the social and dorm life, i wish they would change things up and bring more human characteristics back to this school with reasonable understanding because reasonability seems to be absent at this school.
