When I first decided to go to Saginaw Valley it was because the young lady they had walk us around who was a student was very much in love with the school. After being here I find otherwise. The people they have show you around love the school because they feel like they are key factors to it. You find fast here that this is not college, this is a continuation of high school with the kids who have their noses up the butts of people in high power, and then the kids who are here to learn and get out. Those here to learn and get out get screwed over very frequently. The kids here are not friendly, and if they are they are fake. They also have a lot of international students, which I thought would be quite interesting. I was wrong. As a young woman on campus these Arab men they bring over stare at you like you are garbage and it's not appreciated, and if you say anything to anyone about it you are seen as an uncultured swine and like you are being rude to them by asking them to stop glaring at you.

Now onto the "English" department. I put that in quotations because this State University does NOT offer an English Major anymore. I'm quite frustrated as that is why I chose this school and now they don't offer my major. They also don't grandfather you into programs and can change it at anytime essentially screwing you over. I now have to go an extra year because they changed the program on me. I'm not happy and looking at transfer options. Also, the teachers are very arrogant and grade as though you are working to get your doctorate because they feel as though they have must justify their jobs and degrees by making you feel like crap. Do yourself a favor, and go somewhere else this is a terrible school.
