My experience art UConn was mixed. Academically, everything was fine. The classes were challenging and the professors were helpful more often than not. Socially, it was tough for a couple reasons. First, I was the sole golf-loving "prep" from Fairfield County at UConn in the 1980's. Second, I transferred from a Midwestern school to UConn for my junior year and by then it seemed everyone had established friendships and cliques. It's interesting to note that I was in the 67th percentile of my class year with 1200 SAT's (620 verbal, 580 math). Those same scores today would put me about the 33rd percentile. That shows you how competitive UConn has become in the last 30 years. |
