Statistical Analyzer:

Overall, I enjoyed my time at Wright State, but there were a few negatives. The positives about WSU is the campus is big, but not huge like OSU. The tunnels are also great, especially in the winter. I lived in an apartment on campus (the Village), which was comfortable. In terms of living on campus, there was nobody there to help when you moved in to the apartments, only the dorms. Therefore, bring people with you to help move you in. The area was relatively safe, but cops were called several times. The advisers are absolutely terrible! You walk in, and they pull up your DARS, and tell you to complete the classes you need. Keep in mind, you can do this yourself. If you ask specific questions like " when will this class be offered" , they tell you to wait until it shows up on the schedule. My main complaint about WSU is the financial aid department. I received financial aid, as well as scholarships and grants. After my first year, I tried to schedule classes, but was alerted to no funding was available. I learned from financial aid that even though I had the paperwork in three weeks before the deadline, they were not processed until after the deadline, losing a majority of my aid. When I asked for solutions, the staff member shrugged her shoulders, and said pay for school yourself, or get a private loan. I was forced to attend a different college, moved out of my apartment, and lost a year of credits. This has placed me behind, and am risk of approaching the financial aid cap. I would urge new students to have a solid academic plan and not to depend on advisers, and fill out financial aid paperwork well in advance.
